Interview Tomorrow?
Don't panic. Here's exactly what to do in the next 90 minutes to walk in confident.
Your 90-Minute Emergency Plan
Research the company
- Open their homepage and read the "About" page
- Find their most recent news or press release
- Know their main product, main customer, and main competitor
Re-read the job description
- Highlight the top 3–5 skills they emphasize
- Match each skill to a specific story or project from your experience
- Note any technology or tools they mention — be ready to discuss your experience with each
Prepare your 5 core stories
- "Tell me about yourself" — 90 seconds, past → present → why this role
- Your biggest achievement (quantified)
- A challenge you overcame
- A mistake and what you learned
- Why you want this role at this company specifically
Practice out loud with AI
- Do one full AI mock interview for your role
- Listen to the feedback — especially on filler words and answer structure
- Redo any question you fumbled
Logistics and mindset
- Confirm the time, format (video/in-person), and platform
- Lay out your clothes or test your camera and microphone
- Write down 3 questions to ask them at the end
- Sleep — you need it more than one more hour of prep
Final 15-minute review
- Re-read your 5 stories (don't memorize — just remind yourself)
- Look up your interviewer on LinkedIn
- Arrive / log in 5 minutes early
What NOT to Do Tonight
- ✗Stay up all night studying — exhaustion hurts more than any extra prep helps
- ✗Try to memorize scripts word-for-word — you'll freeze when interrupted
- ✗Read every interview question list you can find — pick 10 and practice them well
- ✗Overthink your answers — a structured, honest answer beats a polished non-answer
Frequently Asked Questions
I have no time — what's the ONE thing I should do?
Do one AI mock interview for your role right now. Saying your answers out loud once is worth more than hours of silent reading. The feedback will show you exactly where you're losing points.
Should I stay up late to prepare?
No. Cognitive function drops significantly with even one poor night's sleep. Stop active prep by 10–11pm and get 7+ hours. Your recall and verbal fluency will be much better rested.
I don't know much about the company. Is that okay?
Not ideal, but fixable in 10 minutes. Know: what they do, who they serve, one recent news item, and why you're excited about that specific company (not just the role). That's enough for most interviews.
What questions should I prepare for?
"Tell me about yourself," "Why this company?", "What's your biggest achievement?", "Describe a challenge you faced," and "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" are asked in 80%+ of interviews. Nail those first.
